Our accredited centre is run by a team of passionate volunteers who are on-hand to provide unbiased advice and local recommendations on tours, attractions, local landmarks, national parks and a wide array of things to do, see and explore. Situated on the Tablelands above Cairns, Mareeba is populated by a vibrant multi-cultural community which is reflected in the cuisine available. It’s also surrounded by many active farms, producing a vast array of produce, including coffee, bananas, mangoes, avocadoes and so much more, take a road trip to explore on Mareeba’s Agricultural Drive.
This historical outback town offers a rich tapestry of events, destinations and activities. From the local markets, to mountain biking, hot air balloon rides, hiking, cellar door visits and foodie experiences, to jumping with rock wallaby’s and so much more (see below). With our vast big blue sky and the perfect weather for hot air ballooning, you’ll love getting high in Mareeba. Brave the crack of dawn wakeup call for some serious wow factor, you’ll catch the sunrise and bag some serious big picture vistas so don’t forget to bring your camera. Hot air balloon trips take 30-60 minutes and include transfers or pickup from the Mareeba Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre. We can help with bookings, so contact us.
After an early morning start, you’ll be wanting coffee and there’s so many choices, with over 70% of Australia’s coffee crop grown right here around Mareeba. Want to get the adrenaline pumping? Hit up the Mareeba Makotrac for some go karting action suitable for the young and the young at heart, they also have mini golf. Or explore the mountain bike trails that traverse some of our stunning National Parks. You can even take a fully-guided motorcycle trike tour.
